This very popular mountain is the southernmost state highpoint of the Rockies. Its treeline, approaching 12,000 feet, is among the highest in the world. Several trails of varying length and difficulty lead to its rocky summit. Heavily used and well defined, Trail 90 begins at 9,200 feet and continues 8 miles to the summit. Summer climbs require stamina but no technical gear. Summer storms can be expected. The wise hiker will be prepared and watchful.
