2012 Commemorative World Map by Future Mapping Company

With the 2012 Olympics in London and the stadium only a stone's throw from our studio, the excuse to produce a map to celebrate this global event was too good to resist. Celebrating the Olympic journey from the first modern games in Athens in 1896, we've highlighted every host city from the last century, finishing with hosts for 2016, Brazil. Along the map's border are delightful graphic illustrations of the 36 sports that were contested during the 2012 Olympic games. The colours of the Olympic rings have been graded through countries and continents to highlight the unity which arises from global participation in this event. We've used the popular Robinson projection to give a classically attractive view of the world.
