Known for its distinctive silhouette and sheer east face Diamond, the beloved Longs Peak is the northernmost of the Colorado fourteeners. The first documented ascent was led by geologist and surveyor, John Wesley Powell on August 23, 1873. It is likely, however, that native Americans had climbed the peak prior to that time.
